The client is a leader in the software industry, with more than 200,000 customers across six continents and owned by one of the world's largest technology private equity firms. Customers include many of the world's largest insurance companies.

The client's challenge was to build a world-class board capable of supporting a planned NYSE stock listing.

Level 5's Solution

Seeking an alternative to traditional retained search, the client turned to Thomas Aprill, Level 5's CEO, to develop a strategy to conduct and execute a confidential and global executive search. The search was to identify and place 5 board members with Fortune 500 credentials, histories of successful corporate exits, service on existing public company boards, and who also possessed strong experience within the client's Industry.

Impact on the Client

Through a consulting-driven approach, Mr. Aprill and his team developed a framework to segment the globe by Industry and geography. They researched and created a list of nearly 100 executives that met the client's criteria, and confidentially approached and recruited several for the CEO's consideration.
